The standard US potash feldspar for decades, blended at Monticello, Georgia, from about 70% high-potash G-200 HP and 30% Minspar 200 soda feldspar. Use G-200 EU or Mahavir for old recipes.
Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of G-200 Feldspar as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of G-200 Feldspar that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| SiO₂ | 66.3 | 6.124 |
| Al₂O₃ | 18.5 | 1.007 |
| Fe₂O₃ | 0.08 | 0.003 |
| CaO | 0.8 | 0.079 |
| MgO | 0.05 | 0.007 |
| K₂O | 10.8 | 0.636 |
| Na₂O | 3.1 | 0.278 |
- Equivalent weight
- 555
- Fired weight
- 554.17
- Loss on ignition
- 0.15%
The equivalent weight is the grams of G-200 Feldspar that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Contains crystalline silica; avoid breathing the dust.
Use it in a recipe
