Terms of use
Last updated October 2026.
In short
Glazecalc is free to use. Use it for your own glazes, records and learning, be fair to the server everyone shares, and do not try to break it.
Who runs it
Glazecalc is a free, open-source, non-profit project, run by its owner, Aaron Filson, in the United States. These terms are for using the site at glazecalcapp.com. By using it, you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use it.
The code and the site
Using Glazecalc
- Use it to work out glazes, keep your records and learn, as a hobby, for teaching or in a business.
- One person to an account, with an email address of your own. Keep your password, your ways of signing in and your access tokens to yourself: you are responsible for what is done with them.
- Save and share only what you have the right to. A recipe you share by link can be read by anyone who has the link.
- Use Glazecalc lawfully.
What you save
What you save stays yours. You let Glazecalc keep it, and show it to the people you share it with, only to run the site.
Do not break the site
Glazecalc runs on one small server that everyone shares. By using it, you agree not to:
try to get into the server, the site or other people’s accounts, or to take it down. If you find a security problem, please report it as the security policy asks, and do not test it on other people’s data. send it more requests than it can bear, or get round the limits on how often things can be done. Those limits keep the site working for everyone, and they may change. copy the site wholesale with a crawler or script. Everything it is built from, its code and its data, is on GitHub already. make extra accounts or trials to get round a limit, or use someone else’s account. use sign-ups, password resets or share links to send people email or links they did not ask for. store or share anything unlawful or harmful, or anything that is not yours to share.
Scripts and AI assistants are welcome within these terms. Give them an access token of your own, so what they do counts as yours.
If the terms are broken
To keep the site working, Glazecalc may slow down or refuse requests, stop a shared link, or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site at risk. Closing an account deletes it. Where it is reasonable to, the owner will email you first and give you time to download your data.
Leaving
You can stop using Glazecalc at any time. Delete my account, on your account page, removes your account and everything in it.
Keeping the site up
Glazecalc is free and runs on a small budget. It may be down at times, for maintenance or by accident, its features may change, and one day the site may close. If it does, the owner plans to email account holders first and leave time for them to download their records. Help is given when the owner can, not on a schedule. Keep copies of anything important: Download my data, on your account page, gives you everything you have saved.
No warranty
Glazecalc is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. As far as the law allows, its maintainers are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law where you live.
Your data
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes too. For a change that matters to account holders, the owner will try to email them before it takes effect.
