- G-200 Feldspar , Custer Spar
- Source
- Digitalfire: G-200 2R Feldspar
Indian potash feldspar from Imerys, imported by Hammill & Gillespie since about 2024 as another G-200 and Custer replacement. Its chemistry is close to G-200 EU.
Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of G-200 2R Feldspar as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of G-200 2R Feldspar that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| SiO₂ | 66.5 | 6.710 |
| Al₂O₃ | 18.2 | 1.082 |
| Fe₂O₃ | 0.1 | 0.004 |
| K₂O | 11 | 0.708 |
| Na₂O | 2.5 | 0.245 |
| CaO | 0.3 | 0.032 |
| MgO | 0.1 | 0.015 |
- Equivalent weight
- 606.26
- Fired weight
- 604.44
- Loss on ignition
- 0.3%
The equivalent weight is the grams of G-200 2R Feldspar that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Contains crystalline silica; avoid breathing the dust.
Use it in a recipe
