High-calcium boron leadless frit; Fusion's listed equivalent of Vibrantz 3195. It is the least exact of these matches: versus 3195-2 (Ferro 2008) it has K2O +3.70, Na2O -2.69, B2O3 -2.32, Al2O3 +1.52, CaO -0.86, SiO2 +0.65 points.
Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of Fusion Frit F-2 as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of Fusion Frit F-2 that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| K₂O | 3.7 | 0.143 |
| Na₂O | 3 | 0.176 |
| CaO | 10.5 | 0.681 |
| B₂O₃ | 20.3 | 1.061 |
| Al₂O₃ | 13.5 | 0.482 |
| SiO₂ | 49 | 2.966 |
- Equivalent weight
- 363.73
- Fired weight
- 363.73
- Loss on ignition
- 0%
The equivalent weight is the grams of Fusion Frit F-2 that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Non-hazardous glass powder per supplier SDS; avoid breathing dust.
Use it in a recipe
