Spanish potash feldspar from Imerys's plant at Onda, sold by several French pottery suppliers (Ceradel, Solargil, Céram-Décor). Its chemistry is close to G-200 EU, which Imerys makes at the same plant for the US market.

Oxide analysis and unity formula

Glazecalc has the analysis of Feldspath potassique ICE 10 (Imerys Spain) as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of Feldspath potassique ICE 10 (Imerys Spain) that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.

Oxides in Feldspath potassique ICE 10 (Imerys Spain)
Oxide Weight % Unity contribution
SiO₂69.327.429
Al₂O₃16.621.050
CaO0.360.041
TiO₂0.040.003

MgO0.030.005
Equivalent weight
643.88
Fired weight
640.02
Loss on ignition
0.6%

The equivalent weight is the grams of Feldspath potassique ICE 10 (Imerys Spain) that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.

Hazards and safety

Hazards: Imerys's safety data sheet (2013) does not classify it and gives less than 1% respirable quartz; avoid breathing the dust.

Glazecalc shows the hazard wording as its record gives it. It is not a full risk assessment, so read the safety data sheet from your supplier. Before you handle any glaze material, read Safe mixing and ventilation and Glaze safety at home.

Use it in a recipe

Add Feldspath potassique ICE 10 (Imerys Spain) to a recipe in the Glazecalc calculator to see what it does to a glaze's unity formula.
