Long-standing UK catalogue figures for potash feldspar, printed by Potterycrafts, Bath Potters and CTM. Bath Potters says its potash feldspar is Norwegian.
Potterycrafts' data sheet for P3296 (October 2025) gives Sibelco's Norflux K 11 analysis instead (K₂O 11.8, Na₂O 2.9), so its current stock may be that feldspar: see Norflux Potash Feldspar.
Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of Potash Feldspar (Potterycrafts P3296) as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of Potash Feldspar (Potterycrafts P3296) that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| K₂O | 11.3 | 0.699 |
| Na₂O | 3.2 | 0.301 |
| Al₂O₃ | 18.5 | 1.057 |
| SiO₂ | 65.8 | 6.382 |
- Equivalent weight
- 582.77
- Fired weight
- 582.77
- Loss on ignition
- 0%
The equivalent weight is the grams of Potash Feldspar (Potterycrafts P3296) that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Fine dust contains respirable crystalline silica; avoid breathing it.
