Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of High Alkaline Frit (Potterycrafts P2962) as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of High Alkaline Frit (Potterycrafts P2962) that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| SiO₂ | 52.5 | 1.726 |
| B₂O₃ | 3.4 | 0.096 |
| Al₂O₃ | 5.2 | 0.101 |
| Na₂O | 18.6 | 0.593 |
| K₂O | 10.3 | 0.216 |
| CaO | 2.9 | 0.102 |
| BaO | 6.9 | 0.089 |
- Equivalent weight
- 197.56
- Fired weight
- 197.56
- Loss on ignition
- 0%
The equivalent weight is the grams of High Alkaline Frit (Potterycrafts P2962) that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Contains barium (about 7% BaO); soluble alkaline frit, avoid ingestion.
Use it in a recipe
