Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of High Alkaline Frit (Bath Potters / CTM) as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of High Alkaline Frit (Bath Potters / CTM) that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| K₂O | 17.35 | 0.328 |
| Na₂O | 17.46 | 0.502 |
| Al₂O₃ | 5.69 | 0.100 |
| CaO | 5.32 | 0.169 |
| SiO₂ | 50.3 | 1.493 |
| B₂O₃ | 3.88 | 0.099 |
- Equivalent weight
- 178.33
- Fired weight
- 178.33
- Loss on ignition
- 0%
The equivalent weight is the grams of High Alkaline Frit (Bath Potters / CTM) that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Very soluble alkaline frit; avoid ingestion.
