Alkali-free magnesia borosilicate frit with very low expansion (CTE 3.96), used against crazing; Fusion's listed equivalent of Vibrantz 3249. Versus 3249 it has no CaO (-3.50 points), SiO2 +2.40, B2O3 +1.30, Al2O3 -0.80, MgO +0.60.
Oxide analysis and unity formula
Glazecalc has the analysis of Fusion Frit F-69 as weight percent of the raw material. The unity contribution is the moles of each oxide in the amount of Fusion Frit F-69 that holds 1.0 mole of flux, which is how Glazecalc adds it into a recipe's unity formula.
| Oxide | Weight % | Unity contribution |
|---|---|---|
| MgO | 12.8 | 1.000 |
| B₂O₃ | 30.2 | 1.366 |
| Al₂O₃ | 12.5 | 0.386 |
| SiO₂ | 44.5 | 2.332 |
- Equivalent weight
- 314.88
- Fired weight
- 314.88
- Loss on ignition
- 0%
The equivalent weight is the grams of Fusion Frit F-69 that hold 1.0 mole of flux. The fired weight is what is left of that after firing.
Hazards and safety
Hazards: Non-hazardous glass powder per supplier SDS; avoid breathing dust.
Use it in a recipe
